Instructions for sending a draft email out of 1shoppingcart.com
*NOTE* Remember, when you send anything it will be going out to many people, so make sure you take your time to make sure the email is sent correctly. You don’t want a mistake sending to the wrong people.
When you log into 1Shoppingcart.com
Go to “Manage Broadcasting”
Dropdown Navigation: Email & Marketing > Broadcasting > Manage Broadcasting
At the bottom of the page, you will find all saved drafts. Select the draft you would like to use.
It will refresh the page with the content in it, so now you are ready to review your settings for sending.
1st. Select the group to send it to. Most of the time your email is targeted, so you will click the second tab, “By Autoresponder”. You will see your available lists to the left, and select the ones you want, moving them to the right.
2nd. You will go below and decide when to send the document.
3rd. “From Name” – this is your organization or name.
4th. “From Email” – This is what people will see it come from.
5th. “Subject” – Give it a name.
6th. “Format” that should be done, because you selected a draft email, doesn’t do anything.
Now you are ready to go.
I always double check everything, the settings you just set up, and the email. Visually look over the email, then click the “continue broadcast”. If something is wrong, or you missed something, the system will warn you to fix it at this point.
You will end up on a new page; this is where you can proof the “final” version. You NEED to see all of the images, or else there is a problem. The system may give you some warnings, like a 70 Character max, I don’t tend to worry about that.
Now when you are 100% sure you are ready, click the “Send Broadcast” at the bottom of the page. If you are not sure, then hit “Cancel”, which will send you back to check.
Once you hit “Send Broadcast”, you message is going out. There is one secrete place you might be able to stop the broadcast, under Jobs, there is a planned status that allows you to cancel the job for about 5 to 10 minutes, after that there is no turning back.
