Join the RedFusion Media Team at “Getting Noticed Online with Local Search Optimization.” As The American Marketing Association & American Advertising Federation clubs in the Inland Empire invite you to a small business seminar: Open to the public. Getting Noticed Online with Local Search Optimization We are about a week away from learning about local optimization. After sending our first couple emails announcing the luncheon presentation, we received a few questions about the event.
A seminar sponsored by the City of San Bernardino Employment and Training Agency (SBETA) will be offered on January 20, 2011 from 7-8:30 a.m. at the agency’s headquarters, located at 600 Arrowhead Ave., Suite 300, San Bernardino.
SBETA provides specialized business consulting services for City businesses, to improve their performance, with the goal of preventing lay-offs and increasing productivity and jobs. RedFusion Business Consulting partners, Ron Burgess and Ray Anderson, will present a blueprint for business with practical and easily implemented strategies designed to help business owners and managers optimize their company’s success.
According to Ray Anderson, owner of American Business Concepts and seminar presenter, “Many business owners are held hostage by the current economy. More than coaching, we offer proven strategies that are designed to empower executives and move them back into an offensive position so they can powerfully “captain” their ship to move their organization forward.”
Slated for discussion are strategic areas to review in your business, simple tools to monitor progress, options to consider when personnel and capital resources are limited, and tools for collaboration. The seminar will be of great value to CEO’s entrepreneurs, and established or start-up business owners who are looking to increase potential and profitability.

News from the RedFusion Office:
When Scott Burgess, webmaster and our Flash design expert for the past five years, was offered the job of his dreams, we could only cheer him on. He has wanted to work for the video game industry since he realized that you have to get a job when you grow up. His degree in film writing was the basis of his training. With perseverance, talent and luck, he landed a contract with Red 5 Studios as the story writer. You can preview the game he is working on here,http://www.firefallthegame.com.
We miss Scott around the office with his great sense of humor and attention to customers; but wish him the best. We are hoping that in the future, we can all say, ‘We worked with M. Scott Burgess, that successful game guy!’
News from the Industry:
Facebook – Maybe a huge targeting failure, or a great relationship tool. Find out how companies are successfully, or wastefully using Facebook in an upcoming report by Jon.
Google Local – Did you know that 1 out of every 3 searches on Google contains a “locality” word. Have you claimed your website in Google Local, and do you have the right local keywords with in your site? Ask Jon.
Hope all is well,

BEND, OREGON – When Aaron Webre decided to attend the University of Redlands, in California, little did he suspect that one day he would return to his hometown of Bend, Oregon to open a branch of an award-winning Internet Marketing and Web Development firm.
“I have never stopped playing or writing music. It was simply a case of finding a way to express myself and create art. I just naturally fell into web design and development. It is always inspirational to see how different art forms, such as music and web design, complement each other. As with music, the different facets of multi-media production creatively inspire me.” In addition to webmaster duties, Aaron also does voice-overs and works with music when overlaying scores for multi-media production. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in music and he continues to write and perform.

For a number of years now, Yahoo and Microsoft have been courting each other. Yahoo has bee going through tough times and Microsoft trying to move more of its business into the search market. Having a failed ($47 Billion) bid to buy Yahoo last year, Microsoft probably gets want it wanted out of the new 10 year deal with Yahoo. Microsoft gets its Bing search engine to power Yahoo, with out getting the employees. Yahoo gets an improved engine for its search, and will handle the sales side of the online advertising engine.
Currently Google still rules the search with 65% of the search according to Comscore. Last year “Microsoft handled 8.4% of searches that month and Yahoo accounted for just under 20%.” WSJ
This year, marks our 10th year running RedlandsWeb.com. We admit it was about time for a change….
