Summer of Change for RedFusion Media

Aaron Webre will be leaving us this week.  He has been with us since 2004, when he joined us as an Intern in his Sophomore year at the University of Redlands. After graduating, Aaron joined us full time, then moved north to Oregon, where he has worked for us remotely for the past few years.  He has been a tremendous asset to our team and will be missed, and we wish him the best of success in his career.  For those who mail Aaro directly, please send your email to support@redfusionmedia.com

Returning to our team is Tom Windeknecht who was with us for a number of years before moving to Missouri.  After a few years away, he is returning to California to be closer to his family.  We are excited to welcome him back.  Tom will take over pieces of work from most of our team, fulfilling the responsibilities of a Production/Traffic Manager.

Other Changes of Note

  • Patsy Prince, who as our bookkeeper steers our financial ship, was married in July.  She is now Patsy Light, and if you have a chance to stop by, you will see that she has truly been beaming this summer.
  • Ron Burgess has been elected President elect of the American Marketing Association of the Inland Empire.
  • Jon Burgess (not to be out done) has been elected the Vice President of theAmerican Advertising Federation – Inland Empire.
  • We are very excited to announce that we have re-designed our InlandEmpire.USsite.
  • We have already begun a part of the Inland Empire business plan, joining forces with Ray Anderson and the PBS show, “Small Business School” to build a one-of-a-kind video supported portal for business evaluation, coaching, and training. Much more on this later…
  • Social, Social, Social… seems to always be changing, we are keeping up on the latest trends, so if you have any questions about Social Media, give us a ring.

I know I have left out what some of our other team members are up to this summer, so give them a call on my dime (800-280-0903), They’ll be happy to chat with you.

Take care,

Jon

Native Son brings Award Winning Internet Marketing Company to Oregon

BEND, OREGON – When Aaron Webre decided to attend the University of Redlands, in California, little did he suspect that one day he would return to his hometown of Bend, Oregon to open a branch of an award-winning Internet Marketing and Web Development firm.

What began as a work-study internship position in 2004 at RedFusion Media in Redlands, transitioned into a full-time career in web development, and Aaron has never looked back.

“I have never stopped playing or writing music. It was simply a case of finding a way to express myself and create art. I just naturally fell into web design and development. It is always inspirational to see how different art forms, such as music and web design, complement each other. As with music, the different facets of multi-media production creatively inspire me.” In addition to webmaster duties, Aaron also does voice-overs and works with music when overlaying scores for multi-media production. He graduated from the University of Redlands with a B.A. in music and he continues to write and perform.

Huge shake up in Search, Microsoft and Yahoo form 10 Year Deal

For a number of years now, Yahoo and Microsoft have been courting each other. Yahoo has bee going through tough times and Microsoft trying to move more of its business into the search market. Having a failed ($47 Billion) bid to buy Yahoo last year, Microsoft probably gets want it wanted out of the new 10 year deal with Yahoo. Microsoft gets its Bing search engine to power Yahoo, with out getting the employees. Yahoo gets an improved engine for its search, and will handle the sales side of the online advertising engine.

Currently Google still rules the search with 65% of the search according to Comscore. Last year “Microsoft handled 8.4% of searches that month and Yahoo accounted for just under 20%.” WSJ
